Petroglyphs beneath Hale-Bopp comet. Composite image of the Hale-Bopp comet passing over prehistoric petroglyphs depicting the passage of a great comet. The petroglyphs were made by the Hohokam, who may be the ancestors of the modern Pima and Tohono O'odham peoples in southern Arizona. The petroglyphs were photographed at a Hohokam archaeological site, in Arizona, USA. The image of Hale-Bopp comet was taken on 6th April 1997.
