Petroglyphs beneath Halley's comet. Composite image of Halley's comet passing over prehistoric petroglyphs depicting a comet (centre), the sun (left) and the Milky Way (right). The petroglyphs were made by the Hohokam, who may be the ancestors of the modern Pima and Tohono O'odham peoples in southern Arizona. The petroglyphs were photographed at a Hohokam archaeological site, in Arizona, USA. The image of Halley's comet was taken on 21 March 1986.
