Caption

Ripple marks on a vertical bedding plane in Silurian sandstone at Marloes Bay, Pembrokeshire, Wales. Ripple marks are the relics of ancient ripples produced by the wind or by water currents and waves that are preserved as structural features of the original deposition - the laying- down of the sedimentary sandstone.
