Caption

Landscape in the Northern Territory, Australia, strewn with massive roughly-spherical boulders, known locally as the devil's marbles. The boulders probably result from chemical weathering of igneous rock via cracks and joints in the surface. Susceptible minerals along the joints decompose and the joints widen, breaking the rock into irregular blocks.
