Wind erosion. A close-up of wind eroded pebbles in the desert. Some pebbles, such as the grey one (at upper centre), have stripes as material is removed along lines of weakness. The erosion is by wind blown sand, which also smooths and rounds the pebbles. Photographed near the Sarbaz River, Baluchistan, Iran.
