Arid mountain valley. Photographed in the Rif mountains, Morocco. The Rif moutain range forms an arch along the northern tip of Morocco. Composed of predominately sedimentary rock, they were formed by crustal shortening during the collision of the Eurasian and African plates during the early Miocene to the early Pliocene epochs.
