Mount Cook, New Zealand. This is the highest peak in New Zealand, standing 3654 metres above sea level. The mountain has been officially called Aoraki/Mount Cook since 1998, after a settlement was reached with the native Maori tribes in the area. Aoraki means "Cloud Piercer" in the local dialect. It is located in the Southern Alps mountain range on New Zealand's South Island.
