Harvested wheat. Sheaves of wheat (Triticum sp.) in a field. The stalks have been cut, leaving the stubble in the ground, and tied into bundles ready for collection. Wheat is one of the world's major cereal crops. The part used is the grain, found in the ear structure at the end of each stalk. The grain contains energy-providing carbohydrates, and is used to make flour for breads and pasta.
