Caption

Mechanically harvesting rice (Oryza sativa). Combine harvester with a stripper-header harvesting mature rice. Rice is one of the world's most important crops, its grains either being eaten whole or used as a source of starch for the production of alcohol. Whole grains of rice are a good source of carbohydrates, B vitamins, calcium and phosphorus. This cereal grows in areas which are warm and wet. Photographed in Arkansas, USA.
