Iron and sulphur. Powedered iron (grey) and sulphur (yellow) mixed together. Iron and sulphur are two of the chemical elements and cannot be broken down into simpler substances. Iron is a metal which can be magnetised. Sulphur is a non- metal which has little or no magnetic properties. This mixture could be separated into its two components by using a magnet to pull the iron out.
