Boll weevil trap (Anthonomus grandis). The boll weevil is the most destructive pest to cotton crops. It is widespread throughout the cotton growing regions of the USA. The bright yellow colour of this trap is a visual lure for the boll weevil, which once attracted becomes stuck to the sticky surface of the trap. Photographed in Texas, USA.
