Jerusalem. Infrared SPOT satellite image of Jerusalem, capital city of Israel. North is at top. In the infrared range, green vegetation is red, bare ground is yellow/white, high ground is dark grey, buildings are blue/grey and water is black. Jerusalem is at upper centre. Jerusalem is split into Old and New parts. Old Jerusalem is south-east of the large white cross near the city centre. The prominent rectangle at the eastern edge Old City is the Dome of the Rock, an important Muslim pilgrimage site. Bethlehem is in the bottom left corner. At far right is the Dead Sea. Image taken in March.
