Christ Church, the square building enclosing a large grassy courtyard at lower right, is just one of the 36 colleges in the image that make up the University of Oxford. Oxford University is the world's oldest English-speaking university. To the east of Christ Church is the Cathedral, while the circular Radcliffe Camera, part of the University's New Bodleian Library, lies to its north-east. The River Thames (flowing from upper far left to lower left) is known as the River Isis within the city boundaries. The image's scale is 1:42,000 at 6x6cm size. Photographed on June 29 1995.
