Post Office Tower, London, UK. The Post Office Tower (British Telecom communication tower) is a landmark of central London. It was designed by Eric Bedford and construction began in June 1961. There were three opening ceremonies; the topping out ceremony (1964), the operational ceremony (1965) and the public opening (1966). In 1980, public access to the building ended and visits are now by invitation only. To the right of the tower is the London Eye.
