Kiev and surroundings, satellite image. North is at top. Kiev, the capital city of the Ukraine, is the grey area at centre, straddling the Dnieper River. The area seen here is around 130 kilometres across. Clouds (white) are at right, a patchwork of fields is seen across bottom, and parts of two large reservoirs are seen. The reservoir at top is the Kiev Reservoir. At bottom right is the Kaniv Reservoir. Image obtained on 14 September 2001, by the ETM+ sensor on the Landsat 7 satellite.
