Brisbane, Australia, satellite image. North is at top, water is blue, shallow coastal areas are light blue, urban areas are grey and vegetation is green. Brisbane is the capital of the state of Queensland. It is located in the southeastern corner of Queensland, Australia and is built on both sides of the Brisbane river, which flows into Moreton Bay, adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. It is the third largest city in Australia with a population of around 2 million (2005). Photographed on 8th August 2001.
