Industrial chimney. Thermogram of smoke issuing from a chimney at a glass factory. A thermogram shows the variation in temperature on the surface of an object, measured by the long-wave infrared radiation it emits. The temperature scale is colour-coded and runs from blue (coldest, 1.1 degrees celsius) through green, yellow, orange, red and pink to white (warmest, 67.1 degrees celsius).
