In-shore marine pollution. A layer of rubbish floating on sea water. The rubbish consists mainly of plastics such as bottles, containers, old fishing nets and the like. Most of it has been around for a long time, hence the mucky grey colour. More recent additions to the rubbish still retain their colour. All of this has collected from the sea or from the river that flows into this port area. Photographed at La Havre, France.
