Marine pollution. Flotsam and jetsam, mainly plastic bottles, washed up at the high tide mark on a seashore. Most of this rubbish is domestic, having been carried into the sea by rivers and deposited on the beach. Unlike the natural debris that the bottles are lying amongst, plastics cannot be broken down by bacteria and so last for a long time as pollutants. Photographed at Pendine Sands in Wales.
