Monitoring atmospheric pollution. A researcher tending an 'active fog collector', an instrument used to monitor atmospheric pollution. When the device senses the presence of fog, it automatically takes a sample. The sample may then be analysed for oxides of nitrogen and sulphur (the 'acid rain' chemicals) and ammonia. The researcher is Hans Hultberg of the Swedish Environmental Research Institute.
