London's Low Emission Zone (LEZ), road sign. Set up by Transport for London (TfL), in London, England, the zone is intended to improve air quality by using charges to deter polluting vehicles from entering the area. From February 2008, it applied to large lorries. From July 2008, it has been extended to cover a variety of other vehicles, excluding cars and motorcycles. The zone covers most of Greater London.
