Repairing Earth. Conceptual computer artwork of scaffolding on the Earth. This could represent repairing the worldwide environment. This ranges from reducing the amount of atmospheric and water pollution, to clearing up existing pollution (like oil spills), to preserving existing life on Earth (preventing excessive species extinction). It may also include addressing problems like excessive desertification (like in the Sahara, lower right), algal blooms from fertiliser run-off, the felling of forests for wood, repairing the hole in the ozone layer, and reducing emission of gases that contribute to global warming. The latter could melt the ice-caps and cause rising sea levels.
