Moche ear shield. Golden ear shield made by the Moche people and worn as ornamental head gear. The scene depicts a Moche figure. The ear shield was found at a Moche archaeological site in Peru. The Moche were a pre-Hispanic people that lived in coastal river valleys in northern Peru. Their civilisation reached its height in the period from 100-700 AD.
