Latin inscription on a stone beside the Via Appia (Appian Way), Rome, Italy. The Via Appia is an ancient Roman road that runs from Rome to Brindisi. This stone is located on the Via Appia Antica, an ancient part of the road that is near Rome. The Via Appia Antica is now part of a nature and archaeological park, the Parco Regionale dell'Appia Antica. Roman ruins are found alongside the road, including carved marble records of Roman mausoleums.
