Excavation site of the Valdaro Lovers. Archaeologists excavating the archaeological site of the Valdaro Lovers. The Valdaro Lovers is the name given to two embracing neolithic skeletons that are believed to be a man and woman in their early twenties who died about 5000-6000 years ago. Other neolithic skeletons, artefacts and settlement rooms were also found at this site. Photographed at Valdaro-S.Giorgio, near Mantova (Mantua) in Lombardy, Italy.
