MODEL RELEASED. Cup-and-string telephone being used by a boy and a girl in a wood in autumn. The girl (in background) is speaking into one of the cups, and the sound waves are being transmitted along the string to the other cup, being held to the boy's ear. The sound waves pass from the string into the air inside the cup, and the boy will be able to hear what the girl is saying. This apparatus is used to demonstrate the principles of sound waves and their transmission. Tin cans can also be used instead of paper or plastic cups.
Model release available. Property release not required.
