Male skin care routine. Man using a cotton wool pad to wipe his face. The pad may contain a cleanser or toner which removes impurities and dead skin cells from the surface of the skin. Many men's skin products are deep cleansing and so are good at removing excess oil from the pores. This occurs as men have more active sebaceous glands, particularly around the 'T-Zone' (nose, brow and forehead) which can lead to the development of blackheads and spots. Following cleansing the face is generally splashed with cold water and then a moisturiser is applied to seal the pores. Many moisturisers contain oil controlling properties.
