Pregnancy timings. Pregnant woman holding a clock in one hand while supporting her swollen abdomen in the other hand. She is 30 weeks pregnant. The clock could represent the period of time in which a baby develops (the gestation period). A full-term pregnancy lasts between 37 and 42 weeks, about nine months. If the baby is a few weeks early, it is termed premature. If it is late in arriving, then labour can be induced.
