Field of Calendula officinalis flowers. This plant is also known as the Pot Marigold. It is grown as an ornamental and edible plant but is mainly cultivated for its seed oil. The oil, which contains the fatty acids calendic acid and linoleic acid, is used for paints, coatings, cosmetics and other industrial products.
