Caption

Australian grass tree. Grass tree, Xanthorrhoea australis, in a forest. This is a fire-resistant plant that usually only produces its large and distinctive flowers (not seen) after being burned in bush fires. Aborigines used parts of the plant, making spears from the large flower stalk. Photographed in Victoria, Australia.
