Lily of the valley. Flowers of lily of the valley (Convallaria majalis). This plant is native to valleys in Europe, apart from the extreme north and south. It is now cultivated worldwide for its attractive and fragrant flowers, and for its medicinal properties. It is used in herbal medicine as a tonic and diuretic. Lily of the valley flowers from late spring to early summer, and prefers shady conditions.
