DNA molecule. Computer model of a molecule of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). Atoms are represented as spheres and are colour-coded: carbon (green), oxygen (red), phosphorus (orange), nitrogen (dark blue) and hydrogen (light blue). The molecule consists of two sugar-phosphate strands (green, red and orange), that spiral around each other to form a double helix, linked by the interactions between pairs of nucleotide bases (blue) along their length. DNA contains sections called genes that encode the body's genetic information.
