Caption

DNA autoradiogram. Computer artwork representing a DNA autoradiogram. The sequence of bands (blue) shows the genetic sequence of nucleotide bases in a sample of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid). This sequence is unique for every individual. DNA controls the development and functioning of every living organism. The four columns each show the placement of one of the four DNA bases, from top to bottom: guanine (G), thymine (T), adenine (A) and cytosine (C). This artwork represents an autoradiogram prepared by Sanger's dideoxy chain termination method.
