Genetically modified cow. This cow (Bos taurus) is called Annie. Born on 3 March 2000, Annie is the first of a new breed of dairy cow that has been genetically engineered to resist mastitis, a bacterial disease of the udder. This research was carried out by the US Department of Agriculture and the University of Vermont, USA.
