High-security virus laboratory. View of a researcher at work in a high-security (level 4) biological laboratory. The researcher works at a sealed cabinet, his hands inserted into gloves. The cabinet is under negative pressure, constantly extracting and filtering any contaminated air within it. All highly dangerous biological work, for instance on viruses, is conducted inside such units. These cabinets mean that the researcher does not have to wear a full-body suit with oxygen mask, or have to pass through decontamination rooms when entering or leaving the laboratory. Level 4 can be used for the most dangerous viruses. Photographed at CAMR, Porton Down, UK.
