Caption

Cryogenic storage. Technician immersing cultured brain cells in a tank of liquid nitrogen. The liquid nitrogen is at -196 degrees celsius, and preserves the cells for later analysis and experimentation. Research on brain cells may help understand the workings of the brain, and also how diseases such as Alzheimer's start and progress.
