Protein analysis. Technician using a Biacore machine to analyse interactions between proteins. These interactions are important in understanding how a particular protein functions within the body. Proteins are the body's major structural building blocks and also form the enzymes that promote the body's biochemical reactions. They are made up of one or more chains of amino acids. The determination of the function of all proteins expressed in the body is known as proteomics.
