MODEL RELEASED. DNA amplification. Student pouring a sample of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) into a sample tube. The sample is the product of a PCR (polymerase chain reaction), a  technique which amplifies  DNA. The DNA is to be used for the culture of rat muscle tissue for use in physiological research. This process is part of  research being carried out at the functional molecular biology laboratory at Dundee University, Scotland. The research focuses on two areas of musculoskeletal development and adaptation. They are concerned with both the transcriptional and translational effects of exercise, and in methods for engineering functional musculoskeletal tissues in vitro.
Model release available. Property release not required.
