Colour differentiation. View of a macaw parrot (family Psittaciformes) demonstrating its ability to differentiate different colours. It is doing this by distinguishing different coloured blocks. In the wild parrots like this one rely on colour vision to identify the fruit and seeds which it feeds on. Since macaw parrots live in flocks, colour vision is also used to identify flock members. Photographed at Parrot Jungle, Florida, USA.
