Bee on woman's nose. Numbered queen honeybee (Apis mellifera) resting on a female researcher's nose. The bee has been labelled so that it can be recognised during experiments investigating honeybee behaviour, such as their communication and navigation. Honeybees are economically important as pollinators of many of the world's crops. The queen produces all of the worker and drone bees for a colony. Photographed at the University of Wurzburg, Germany.
