The fibroblast is a cell ubiquitous in connective tissue that makes and secretes collagen. Its stem cell line produces the osteoblasts of bone, the adipocites of fat, and the chondrocytes in cartilage. Fibroblasts are involved in normal growth the healing of every tissue in the body that may be damaged from injury or every day wear and tear.
