Balanced diet. View of a table filled with various foods, all of which contribute to a balanced diet. In the foreground are pasta and wholemeal bread, sources of thiamine and folic acid. Next to these is a bowl of vegetables. Leafy vegetables are high in vitamins C, E and K and contain pantothenic acid. Carrots also contain vitamin A. Fish contains most B-complex vitamins, oily fish is also a source of vitamin D. Fresh fruit is an excellent provider of dietary fibre, and citrus fruits are high in vitamin C. Grapefruit also contains biotin (vitamin H).
