Pasta assortment. Assortment of uncooked pasta along with a tomato, garlic, and the herbs thyme and rosemary. The varieties of pasta seen here are: twists (upper left), penne (upper right), spaghetti (bundles at far left), ruote (lower right), bows (lower left) & shells (centre left). Also seen is straight spaghetti (below tomato) and wholewheat pasta shells (centre). Pasta is a good source of dietary fibre, protein and carbohydrate. It is made by mixing flour with water and drying the resulting dough. A yellow colour is obtained by adding egg yolk to the dough. Also spinach can be added to give pasta a green colour.
