Digitised fingerprint records: computer screen display of digitised fingerprints, part of a system used by French police forces for storing and analysing criminal records. The system permits detailed comparison & possible matching of records taken from a scene of the crime with existing records on file. In this example, two similar- looking fingerprints are displayed; the comparison checks imposed by the software confirm that these two are identical - a positive match.
