Computers in forensic science. A scientist working with a Bio Image analysis computer. This is used to enhance the image of a DNA autoradiograph, which contains the genetic information or 'fingerprint' of a suspect and to store data about it digitally. The computer may then be used to perform the laborious cross-checking needed to match two samples. Photographed at Cellmark Diagnostics, a commercial laboratory near Oxford, UK.
