Murder victim with multiple stab wounds to the chest, neck and face. The shape of the stab wounds can identify the weapon that was used, here a knife. Further examination may reveal the angle of attack, and the force used to stab the victim. The colour of the skin and the bruising can also reveal the force of a blow and sometimes whether it occurred before or after death. The appearance of the skin can also help determine the time of death.
