Early 20th century physicists. Clockwise from upper left: the German-Swiss-US physicist Albert Einstein (1879- 1955), Austrian Paul Ehrenfest (1880-1933), Dutch cosmologist Willem de Sitter (1872-1934), Dutch physicist Henrik Lorentz (1853-1928) and British astrophysicist Arthur Eddington (1882-1944). De Sitter's cosmology used Einstein's General Relativity. Lorentz's work is used in Einstein's Special Relativity. Eddington theorized on stellar structure. Ehrenfest worked on quantum mechanics.
