Oleg Konstantinovich Antonov (1906-1984), Soviet aircraft designer. Antonov founded an aircraft design company in 1946, later named Antonov ASTC in his honour. He was head designer, and worked on aircraft such as the An-2, An-22, and An-24. Some of Antonov's aircraft were the largest and most powerful at the time, setting several world records. His awards include two Orders of Lenin, the USSR State Prize (1952), the Lenin Prize (1962), and Hero of Socialist Labour (1966). Photographed in Moscow, Russia, in 1964.
