Caption

Professor Martin Fleischmann, British electrochemist, currently working in the University of Southampton, UK. In March 1989, Fleischmann, together with Stanley Pons of the University of Utah in the US, claimed to have created sustained "cold fusion" energy production in a simple electrolytic cell. Subsequent experiments conducted worldwide have so far failed to substantiate their findings. Photo taken in March 1989.
