Susan Greenfield. Portrait of British brain researcher and neuropharmacologist, Dr Susan Greenfield. Greenfield will deliver the 1994 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures entitled: "Journey to the Centres of the Brain". She was born in London and educated at Oxford in experimental psychology. For her doctorate she researched an enzyme involved in alternative neuronal signalling in the brain. Her subsequent research has been to relate this enzyme to neurodegenerative disorders, in particular, Parkinson's disease. Greenfield has written a textbook "Concepts in Neuroscience" and a theory of consciousness "Journey to the Centres of the Mind", both published in 1995.
